The Thomas M. Dolfi Funeral Home, located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, was built in 1901 by turn of the century realtor and land speculator, John S. Douglas.
The John S. Douglas Mansion is a two story, red brick home built in the Romanesque style. This estate occupies a prominent corner along Uniontown's Gallatin Avenue. This historical building continues today as an elegant and opulent residence, famous for its refined interior, as well as for its fine exterior architecture reminiscent of homes built by the coal barons of the era. In the 1940's, the late Victor DeCarlo operated a funeral home from this site. In 1967 an addition with great attention to period detail was added. On February 4, 1994, the former John S. Douglas House was entered in the National Register of Historic Places under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. In 1982, funeral director Thomas M. Dolfi, his wife Donna, and their two sons, Eric and Patrick, purchased this historic landmark and established the Thomas M. Dolfi Funeral Home.

The Dolfi family has resided in this beautiful home since that time and has become an integral part of the community in Uniontown. Since the untimely death of her husband, Thomas M. Dolfi in January 2001, the late Donna L. Horan Dolfi had been operating the funeral home and maintaining the residence in this historic home in accordance to the grand splendor of its former owners and continued to do so until her death in August 2007 from ovarian cancer. In carrying on the traditions of their family operated funeral business, Eric, who has completed his formal studies at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. In 2005, Stacey Redshaw Dolfi, who is married to Eric, became a part of the family business as a licensed funeral director. Eric, Stacey, and their daughter Bella and side E.J. reside in the mansion and continue to carry on the rich traditions of their family.
